"Gospel" means "good news."

Christ's church is called to share the good news Jesus' resurrection brings into the world. Here are a few ways our Christian community shares the gospel in our neighborhood.

Backpack Pals

Weekly Collections

We've partnered with Miller Heights Elementary School to help provide school supplies and meal items for children in our community. Collections can be dropped off at the church any time we're open, and our partners from Miller Heights will make sure no child goes hungry or lacks the basic tools needed for their growth and success. Items requested by our Backpack Pals partners include:

Fruit cups or applesauce

Individual cereal bowls, otameal, Cans of ravioli (pop tops)       Individual rice or Mac and Cheese bowls

Individual vegetable cups

Peanut butter & Jelly (plastic jar)

crackers

Individual drink mix package

Protein/cereal granola bars (high protein)  

Bag snacks

Children’s Books/ Coloring books

Crayons

Ongoing Relationships

New Bethany Ministries is an interfaith, non-profit organization with its main location in Southside Bethlehem with 17 full-time, 4 part-time staff members, and over 900 volunteers spending more than 20,824 hours serving their neighbors. New Bethany Ministries mobilizes community partnerships, relies heavily on volunteers, and practices sound fiscal stewardship to impact almost 9,000 people annually.

Their Choice Food Pantry has gone digital! Providing clients with healthy, fresh food options, the new and improved remote digital ordering system now allows clients to choose their food choices online, as well as, remembers previous orders and allows for staggered pick up times.

St. Mark's is one of four local congregations who work together in the name of Jesus to provide food to our neighbors. Along with Notre Dame of Bethlehem, & St. Andrew's Episcopal, we offer smiles and forge relationships with people all across Bethlehem. 

The Pennsylvania Avenue Interfaith Food Pantry is  located at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 1900 Pennsylvania Ave., Allentown, PA 18019, and is open the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 6 PM to 8 PM. 

Any residents of ZIP Codes 18017, 18018, 18020, regardless of means, are eligible to receive food courtesy of Second Harvest.
